Sure this method is all well and good for shitty pine wood, but for realy hard woods like red Iron bark it would be useless lol...

Theres totally nothing wrong with using a little newspaper in there. For what hes doing to work you have to have super bone dry thin wood kindling! Then its slow.Actually a small piece of plain cardboard will set it off fast and cleanly. Also a small amount of used cooking oil put it in a old dishwashing bottle and put some on the wood like he did and light the kindling works great and if you smell it it smells like your cooking something. Its used in diesel engines smell like french fries cooking

To add what Bobby said about using paper please make sure to watch what kind of paper you use. Some kinds of paper cause much more or thicker smoke then what would normally roll up your chimney stack. I've seen people use cardboad box scraps as an example and wonder why their is so much smoke in their house not going up the chimney. Paper is cheaper but very messy

@henrymets97 This method does work and your post just confirms so. By you putting the kindling under the whole thing is no different then Bobby adding the last piece of wood to the top and lighting the fire.

This method worked great for me. Had 4 firewood failures, this mechanism worked very well. Thanks very much not only for the video, but especially for having it captioned.
