True enough, as the video states it is not a "TRUE" Rumford, as the covings are at the wrong pitch and the firebox is a bit deep. However these fireplaces are quite efficient as fireplaces go... The smoke chamber being the most important part, along with the throat which is a radius as a Rumford uses. But we build true Rumfords brick by brick if desired. These two units are the Firerock Version of a Rumford, with the straight back and being taller than they are wide. Good eye, you are informed.

That is not a Rumford firebox. The shape is all wrong and is not an efficient shape. Check out Count Rumford.

Inst the fireplace to tall? it will not be properly ventilated.

stucco, tile, stone, brick....... they are UL approved for interior installations, and can sit on a heat sheild if it is a wood floor installation, of course you have to convert over to metal flu

Very interesting and a bit humorous around the end of this video. Thank you very much for the demonstration of how the base foundation is assembled. I wonder, could an additional facade of lets say River Rock or Field Stone be cemented to the outside periphery of this structure?
