Fireplace spark guards

Fireplace spark guards are meant to protect your home and the area surrounded by it from the sparks of the fire. It should be designed such a way to fit flat up against the outside of the fireplace and it should overlap the opening by at least 1" on the top and sides. These safe guard screens should be made much sturdier. All the frames must consist of a large diameter steel rod welded to an extra heavy kick plate to provide a rigid support. The mesh must be specially woven to ensure that no jagged edges are exposed. Handles should be securely bolted to the frame and not to the mesh.

Features of fire place spark guards

Fireplace spark guards provide a superior protection to the rooms' furnishings and to people and pets. Not only do these protect from the sparks flying out in the room, as fireplace screens do, but these also protect from sparks that fly up and out into the room. The extra panel of screening at the top of the spark guard provides with an extra assurance that the toddler, carpeting, or fluffy would be protected from the fire. The spark guard should have a dramatic, flat plane instead of the curved screens that most of the spark guards have. Whether it is for a traditional look or a more modern look, the fireplace spark guard with its simple understated design might be just what the room requires.

Difference between fireplace screens and fireplace spark guards

Fireplace screens and spark arrestors basically helps in serving two purposes that is they protect your floor from stray sparks while still allowing the warmth and beauty of a burning fire to show through, plus they camouflage the firebox when it is not is use. With a fireplace spark arrestor or a folding fireplace screen as beautiful as the ones pictured here, the room would always look richly polished and sophisticated.

Kinds of fireplace screens

There are many kinds of fireplace screens. These fireplace screens vary by the number of panels that they have, by whether the panels are straight or bowed, by the shape of the top of the screen, and by whether they have access doors. There is also a difference between fireplace screens and fireplace spark guards. Nowadays, one-panel screens are very popular. Flat one-panel screens fit up flat against the fireplace and are visually integral to the fireplace opening. These generally sit on adjustable feet.
