Soft covers are made from materials such as polyester or nylon. These synthetic fibers can be durable during extreme weather conditions and at the same time prove useful in preventing injury to children. Hard covers are usually made of glass and can be placed in front of the opening of the fireplace, efficiently preventing any harm to the people in the house.

Fireplace covers that are available in the market come at a price range from $20 to $100. The price would depend upon the type, material and model that you would choose. Generally, hard covers like the ones made from glass are costlier than others. But the advantages of using a fireplace cover made of glass are many and the benefits definitely outweigh the costs. A fireplace requires much time and effort for its upkeep and fireplace covers are one of the best ways of maintaining them in an efficient manner.
